Take a step back in time as we retrace the steps of the ill fated Donner-Reed party on a 2 hour Horseback ride. After a short 5 minute shuttle from your downtown Wendover Hotel a professional wrangler leads you through unique chaparral landscapes while viewing limestone caves and taking in distant views of the vast Bonneville Salt Flats below.

How to make a reservation

Call our toll-free reservation line at 1.877.882.4386 7 days a week, 8am to 6pm MST.
Credit cards are required to hold a reservation.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Pertinent Info

  • Guests must be 8 years old to ride.
  • Single riders only.
  • Guests are required to follow wrangler instructions.
  • Respect for wranglers, other guests, horses, and trail etiquette is required for all guests at all times.
  • No alcohol.
  • Group sizes will be no larger than 6 guests per wrangler. If group size exceeds 6 guests, extra wrangler will be provided.



We will need the following information.

  1. 1. Date, time, and type of preferred tour.
  2. 2. Number of guests.
  3. 3. Guest contact information including name and phone number.
  4. 4. Reserve shuttle pickup time and location.
  5. 5. Credit Card number and expiration date.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your tour time. No refunds are available within 24 hours of your confirmed tour time. Tours operate rain or shine. Cancellations due to weather are non-refundable.

FAQ

  1. What type of riding do you do? Western style.
  2. Can we run the horses? Our horses have plenty of spirit, however, we do not allow our guests to run our horses due to safety protocol.
  3. What should I wear? We recommend that all riders wear long pants, closed toed shoes, light jacket, and sunglasses. These items are not required but only recommended. Wear clothing that you do not mind getting dusty.
  4. Can I take pictures? Yes, we encourage guests to bring cameras this is a great photo opportunity.
  5. Where are you located and where do you go? Our base camp is located approximately 2 miles north of Wendover at the base of Leppy Peak. We ride in the Mountain range just north of Wendover between Leppy Hills and Pilot Mountain. Our trail map can be found here
  6. What is the weather like? Wendover weather is typically sunny and dry. High temperatures range from 40-45 in January up to 90-95 degrees in July.
